How Could He Go On Without Them - 1325 Words

How could he go on without them? But how could he not go on? They would want him to survive... to grow up and make something of his life... to honor their memories. Salva wanted to impress everyone that ever doubted his decisions and actions. He was left to walk the rest of the journey all by himself, but at times like this he missed his family more than anything. Salva would have to make his life something everyone would honor, something that he would be proud of. All that was Salva’s mind was how he was going to live the rest of his life without help from anyone from his family. There were open wounds on the bottom half of her body that were made by the hungry vultures. The smell of her corpse was so pungent that it would make anyone want to vomit; the smell reminded him of rotten eggs, roadkill, and sewer water. The blood that she was laying in had turned into a dark red that had hardened over a long period of time. He couldn t look for too long because all the thought about death started to come back into his mind again. Wanting to escape the horrible thought, he ran like a cheetah released to the wild. â€Å"Sir, please help me,† yelled a woman that was sitting on the dusty desert ground. â€Å"Please, please help m e, I ve been sitting here for almost two days and no one has had the kindness to even help me.† â€Å"Ma am I m sorry but I have to go. I’m so far away from the water...I need to leave now† Salva was contemplating whether to be selfless, or selfish. Salva chose to leave the helpless woman alone; Salva knew that this is not the right decisions to make since he had seen such heroic actions made by the older men.
